Yas reflects on her experience of working with me…
I’ve been training with Martin for the past two years, and I have every intention of continuing. Working with him has completely changed my approach to fitness.
Our main focus has been strength training and Olympic weightlifting, which has become one of my favorite parts of training. What I appreciate most about Martin is how much effort and attention he puts into every single session. He always makes sure I’m lifting safely and using proper technique to prevent injuries, but at the same time, he knows exactly when to push me beyond what I think I’m capable of.
With Martin’s guidance, I’ve lost around 35 kilos, and honestly, I don’t think I could have achieved that without him, I honestly didn’t like gym I felt lost and bored, that has changed, of course. He constantly adapts my training based on my progress—more reps, fewer reps, heavier weights, lighter weights—always making the right adjustments to keep me improving.
When I started looking for a personal trainer, I wanted someone who could help me become stronger, lose weight, and most importantly, someone with the knowledge, qualifications, and genuine passion for what they do. I spoke to several personal trainers before choosing Martin, and none of them came close to his level of professionalism.
I genuinely can’t recommend Martin highly enough. If you’re serious about achieving your goals, he’s the PT you want by your side.
Yas

Pictured above, Yas having performed a Jerk, the second and separate component of the Clean and Jerk. Olympic weightlifting technique is a key component of the sessions we do, but, I hasten to add, it’s not everyone’s favourite choice of exercise.
“My own personal experience of working with Yas”… the coaches outlook…
Yas, aged thirty seven, started exercising with me in the late July of 2024 (approx. two years ago), Her overall goal was to loose weight (body fat) and improve her overall fitness levels.
It’s been a real joy to work with Yas and in the time we have worked together she has lost a total of 35 kg, and still counting. But, Much more than this, Yas has also gained a significant amount of muscle mass, along the way, whilst also changing all of her key measurements (girths) such as waist, hips and chest girths.
To achieve these outcomes my client applied herself (100 percent) to a whole variety of training disciplines including strength work, bodybuilding, cardio, Olympic Weightlifting and even the occasional crossfit session.
Along the way she has also built a significant amount of muscle mass, and (only recently) can deadlift 100 kg, and for more than a single set.
All this has taken a lot of time and patience for Yas to learn good technique before lifting more impressive loads.
Yas’s success is all down to a seriously committed out look which makes all the difference in the gym setting. In addition, along the way, a few other great things were learnt.
My client had a previous back ground of cross fit and her stories about it (She is an avid fan) actually led to me building up enough overall curiosity for me to sign up for regular weekly classes. (This, for well over a year now, but I’m still not sure if I like it, this said without irony)
In turn, I introduced Yas to “Golden era Bodybuilding” and delightfully she subsequently has not only just became a huge fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger , but has even attended one of his seminars. Not everyone can say this.

Finally, a mutual love of horror films has given us plenty to talk about inbetween work sets, and that was down to an improbable amount of good taste, all around.
Well done Yas and for certain, your best results are still yet to come..

“A coaches word on muscle mass”…
Often a difficult concept, particularly, for women to grasp, but Yas’s dedication to get stronger, overall, has lead to gaining a significant amount of muscle mass, and especially more recently.
Muscle gain is the way forwards because muscle gain melts off fat and helps change overall body composition. It all takes time, but you have to keep trying to gain strength and whilst having an overall trust in the process.
